My mother died recently in England. I live in South Africa. Shortly before her death, she told my sister that she thinks we are Jewish as she remembered the ritual house-cleaning that took place every Fri?Sat? when she was a child. Her mother's name was May Victoria Else. May left her hsband and 3 children and dissapeared. Mom and her siblings were then placed into separate homes in England in 1935 and they never met up again. How sad! In addition, I discovered that my dad's father was named Ira Davis. I've searched all over for confirmation that I am Jewish but have had little success. I was interested in a few posts that mentioned DNA testing and wondered whether I could find out in this way?
