I ran across you message relative to Slomowitz, et al and may have some useful information.
I came across Paul Sloan (1919-1981)in the Temple Israel section of Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus. The funeral home info confirmed the "World Furniture" connection. He is buried next to his wife Wilma Bromberg Sloan, and his funeral arrangements were handled by his son, Steven Sloan.Inforamtion regarding Paul's death was provided by a Charles Saxbe (son-in-law) of Mechanicsburg, Ohio.[I believe that Charles Saxbe was from the same Saxbe family of Mechanicsburg that produced William Saxbe, well-known political figure in Ohio, Senator from Ohio, Attorney General under President Nixon, and eventually Ambassador to India.]
In addition, there was a Celia Weisel Slomowitz (1898-1985) who died at Wexner Heritage House in Columbus. She was born in Romania, the daughter of Chaim Weisel and Frieda Stern, and was survived by daughters Lynne-Frieda Rich of West Palm Beach, FL; Edith Gottesman of Rego Park, NY; and Marion (Mrs. Bernard) Gerson, of Columbus; son Hyman Slomowitz of New York City; sister Mirium Stein of Yonkers; five grand-children adn one great-grandchild.She was buried in Wellwood Cemetery, NY.
Anything else I can tell you?
