Dear Pamela,

I know very little about John Jessup. I was told that his father's name was also John. In the time frame that I am researching, there were three John Jessups living in Parke County IN. Without a middle initial it sure does get confusing! All I can verify is that he was born about 1813, don't know death date; married Marietta Burford Jan. 26, 1847 in Rockville (Parke Co. IN.). She was b. Kentucky about 1828--don't know her death date. His second wife was Jane Lewis born 1832 in VA, d Oct. 5, 1898 in Rockville.

His children by Marietta--Lydia m. Archibald Collings; John; Eliza Ann m. Charles Atkinson (my line); William; Mary J., Theodore, Dudley, Richard. One son that I know of by Jane is George b. 1864 d. 1948. He raised prize pigs.
