Hello --

Brian Foster again, correcting some misinformation in my original post and adding to it.

In talking with relatives this evening, I learned that my Roscoe Conklin JESSE was born in Eldon, Miller County, Missouri on 16 Feb 1885. He moved to Maweagua, Illinois to work on his father-in-law's farm, and then eventually moved to Berrien County Michigan, where his grandson (my wife's father) lives today.

I found a reference in Missouri archives to a male JESSE born in Feb 1885 to a James M. Jesse and Mary J. Wadley.

From this I have found some personal genealogy sites that tentatively link my Roscoe all the way back to John JESSE of Virginia, father of William Morgan. William Morgan's brother, Thomas Hall, is Roscoe's great-grandfather.

Any connecting info on Roscoe or his siblings (Clarence, Berry T, Grover C, Drake A, Montie C, Floyd L, Grundy?, Ann?) or ancestors would be most appreciated!
