While looking for articles about Brazos County, Texas, I ran across the following notice. While I am not related to any of these people, I thought perhaps this would help someone?

***

Dear Editor - I have a lost daughter named Edna Jerrett. She went away with Dr. J. Robinson the last year of the war. When last heard from she was in Brownsville, Jackson Co., Ala. Her father’s name is Jerry Chalmers. When she went off I beleonged to the same family of Jerretts. I went off with Dr. Jerome Summerfield Jerrett. He married one Miss Lydia Casing. I then lived seven miles from Holly Springs, Marshall County, Miss. My daughter had sisters, Alice and Henrietta. All lived with the same family. Their grandmother’s name was Nelly Jerrett. The father of these Jerretts was a Methodist preacher. I came to Texas before the close of the war. [signed] Darthulia Minor, Bryan, Brazos Co., Texas.
