John Ham (B:1834) mar Sarah/Sara Journigan,(B:Abt. 1844) 1859, Franklin Co., NC. Looking for parents of Sarah. Leaning to William Johnakin who is shown on 1850C in Hayesville,Franklin, NC (45), wife Elizabeth(45). One of the children in Sallie (8). Could this be Sarah? Also in house is Jacob Johnakin (80), probably William's father. On 1860C they are in Louisburg, Franklin, NC and Sarah is 6 yrs. younger than William. Jacob still with them. Have not been able to track Jacob.
Could Elizabeth be an Allgood?
From the Jernigan newsletters posted online: from Franklin County is (1) David Jarnagan mar Patty Pace 2-8-1789. (2) Wm Jernakin mar Eliz. Allgood 5-23-1843, (3) Wm Jonikin mar Sarah Allgood 1-20-1834, (4) Wm Jonikin mar Julia Ann Ham 9-9-1862.
Hard to follow the Jernigan name as the spelling keeps changing. Hopefully someone out there can shed some light on this family.
