Richard Sasnett is fairly well documented and there is no suggestion that his wife was a Jerkins or related to old Zack. And Sasnett did not name any of the other children in his will - several were born before the first Richard S.. If Richard S. had been his nephew because his wife was Zack's sister, then all of Zack's children would have been nephews.
It is certainly possible that Sarah Bailey may have originally been a Sasnett who had been married to a Bailey before her marriage to Zack Jerkins. With the scarcity of records in SE Georgai, we may never know.
I am going to the National Archives in a couple of weeks, and I hope to get hold of Zack's full file for his Pension. There is some possibility that will reveal a few more secrets.
I am still digging, and I hope to come out with a revised edition of A Jerkins Journey - fully sourced and with about 2000 more folks iisted.
