John J. Jepson, US Army Signal Corps Photographer
I am looking for John J. Jepson, enlisted 5/11/42 in TACOMA WASHINGTON. At the time of enlistment he resided in WASATCH Cty UTAH. He was born in 1918.
Mr. Jepson possibly joined the US ARMY SIGNAL CORPS and may be the J. Jepson who took this photo *WARNING: graphic death of aFilipino child in WWII!

It's possible that John J. Jepson died in San Francisco, CA in 1996. I'm working with Filipino researchers to locate the town of Bingas, where NARA says the photo was taken. The problem is that there are at least four Bingas Barangays (villages) on that island alone. We're hoping Mr. Jepson is the photographer, and he told someone about that photo and the circumstances of the child's death.
Why do we think this is the right Jepson? Because John J. Jepson was the only J. Jepson in the enlistment records with photography training. Plus, at age 27 in 1945, he was older than most of the men and likely was put into a Signal Corps unit.
If you have any information about this man or his relatives, please contact me. Thank you for your time and attention.
