Not sure if this will be of any help or not. But Plainville NE is in Pierce County. The county was established in 1859. I couldn't find the family there in the 1880 census. But there is a John, born in Denmark in 1879, and his family, in the 1900 Nebraska, Pierce County census. He arrived in the US in 1892. So the relationship to your John Jensen is questionable, although he has a son John which might imnply it is a family name.

Sylvia
