What the Visitation of Norfolk actually says is "John Jenny of Cressingham Magna in co. Norf., esq., son & heir, ob. 14 May 1575, sepul. spnd Edmonton in co. Midd."

I'm not sure but I don't think it means "born or birth." Maybe someone else can explain. Could be obituary? Or obtained?

I've seen 1575 as the date that the first John Jenny died -- but I've also seen it as the date that he inherited (i.e., as the date of death of his father Christopher).
