My research in Ireland to discover my gggrandfathersJohn Jenkinson's birth place, who would have been born in the early part of the 1800's has become more difficult than I anticipated. My gggrandfather was Protesant, in County Carlow - You mentioned a number of places - Ullard, Myshall, Utland, Tullow, Clenegall, Grayley, Graigue, and Staplestown. There are no Protestant Registers for Ullard. The Myshall registers I have searched - these exist from 1814.Graigue is in the Parish of Ullard.Staplestown is in the Parish of Ballincarrig but there are no Protestant registers.
My next step is to have the Marriage Licence Bonds for Counties Galway & Carlow searched. These are only indexes - the bonds have been destroyed, but perhaps I can find a reference to a John Jenkinson during the early 1830's.
I know my ggrandfather Henry was born Toghermore Tuam Co. Galway.
I hope you have good luck in your search. Please keep in touch. If I can find more Co. Carlow info. I will pass it on.
Jim Jenkinson
