Good afternoon Shannon and Frankie,
My name is Crosby Turner and I am helping my 10 y.o. daughter research her family history for a Social Studies project.
My daughter's grandmother is Peggy Irene LOCKMAN m. PATRICK(living, b. in 1920s)
Peggy's Father was Charles Ramsey LOCKMAN (?b. 1872 and died abt. 1927 in "Homestead Village" where he worked in the cotton mill.Charley and Eunice lived in the Spartanburg SC area.
Peggy's mother wasEunice Ellen JENKINS (b. 22 Aug 1886 d. 9 July 1970).She raised the family during the Great Depression.
They are buried in the Lutheran cem. in Gaston Co. NC.
Eunice JENKINS' father reportedly was Press JENKINS.
Hopefully we may have a match with the families you are listing.
As you will notice, all of the ground-work was done by Jean McSwain, not me, and I am grateful for her conscientious work.
She is a friend of Whitey LOCKMAN, a descendant and a well-known major league baseball player.
Please let me know all the information that you care to share on these lines. Also please let me know if you already have a contact with Jean.
I will also reply to the posting in the forum after sending this.
This information will mean a lot to the family but especially to my 10 y.o.'s project. Her name is Hope. :)
Regards,
