Ralph Jenkins, et al:
The problem with the Richards Jenkins's is that there are just too many of them! In 1781 there is Richard, Richard the Younger, Richard Sr., and Richard Jr. There are four Richards in 1783, 1784, 1785, 1794, 1799, and 1800. I made a roll of paper once about six feet long and tried to follow these Richards out to 1819--with some success but not total.
I believe (as you do also) that Richard Jr.is the one who marries Jemima Holoway.
I believe that Richard the Younger is the one who marries Rebecca Sisk, daughter of old Timothy. He is also occasionally designated as "Shoemaker." and is last in the tax records in 1818.
Richard Jr., in 1783 is, I believe Richard designated occasionally as "Turnpike." He married Elizabeth Last name unknown to me.
A great deal of information on the Sisks and Jenkins can be worked out by looking closely at Rappahannock County Chancery Files #517 and #820 in the Rappahannock Courthouse.
From this it appears that Timothy Sisk Jr., was the son of William Sisk who was the son of old Timothy. Richard Jenkins, father of Ann who married Timothy Sisk, was born ca. 1740 and would have been of the same generation as William Sisk and their children would have been of the same generation.
Have you checked out Westmoreland County? There is a Richard Jenkins indentured servant, there 1661-1679, charged several times with running away. Also Rowland Jenkins running away in 1688 and John Jenkins running away in 1687. Rowland and Joh also indentured servants. Interesting coincidence of first names. We know that Richard Jenkins and Jonas Jenkins were charged with "not frequenting their Parish Churce according to law" in Spotsylvania County May 3, 1727. Both had to have been adults as this time.
Hope some of this helps,
Chuck Perdue
