Judge David Jenkins & Gov. John Jenkins 1600s

Does anyone have anything more concrete about a relationship between Gov. John Jenkins of NC, d. Dec 17 1681, and Judge David Jenkins of England, born in Glamorganshire, Wales in 1586? I have seen the implication of relationship in the Benjamin Winborne Book on the Vaughan Family, but would like to know if there is anything more direct than that they are in similar time periods and have the same name.

Also, does anyone have anything further on Gov. John Jenkins being Welsh? Our local Welsh society claims him as a North Carolinian with Welsh heritage, but I can't get an answer from them as to their source--perhaps it is based on the above implication?
