Yesterday at a flea market I dug through a box of old photos, looking for the few that had identifying information. One find was of "Eula Jenkins, 212 N.W. 10th Ave, Miami, Fla." Eula is standing on the steps of a house with a stone facade and a lovely porch. She is standing on the bottom step, admiring the plants in one of two large urn-shaped planters. Dressed very nicely in an ankle-length pleated skirt. She appears to have gray hair a short, perhaps curled, style.
Eula is a white woman, and my best guess is that she is in her 70's in this photo. Another guess is that it was taken in the 1940's. This would give her a very rough estimated birth date in the 1870's. The photo is about 2x3 inches and has a slight sepia tone.
I looked for a 'likely' Eula Jenkins on Ancestry and here, but was not able to find one that fit the bill perfectly. The likelihood that JENKINS is her married name is obviously very high. In some of my poking around I saw some possibility that her name COULD have been Georgia (Several "Georgia E Jenkins" came up in my searches, especially in the Dade County, Florida censuses.
Perhaps Eula's family will find ME. Obviously I would be happy to scan and email the image if someone wants to see if they recognize her and if we find a family member, I can send the original.
