Jenking Family Genealogy Forum
I noted your correspondence with Richard Jenking, and hope that you and/or Richard might be acquainted with some of the Jenkings in my family tree also. My wife's great-great-grandfather was Shadrach Jenking, who I believe was born sometime between 1790 and 1800 in St. Just-in-Roseland, Cornwall. He was apparently an apprentice shipbuilder who emigrated as a young man to Essex County, Ontario, Canada, and married Marguerite Maisonville there, with whom he had a large family--at least twelve children. Most of his sons and many of his grandsons were also shipbuilders, ship carpenters, or mariners. Shadrach's father may have been Joseph Jenking of St. Just-in-Roseland. Can you corroborate any of this information? Thank you. Jim
