Dear John

We are talking the same James Jenkin (don't know where the John came from, possibly just late at night). As you rightly state his birth certificate is only James but on his gravestone is James E Jenkin and on his wife's death certificate her husband is James Edward Jenkins. James was killed in 1881 in a mine accident leaving his wife Catherine Tippet Jeffrey with the children.

One of their children was Jane Jenkin(born 1875) who married Frederick Ewin Vickery from South Australia in 1903 and they returned to SA. My wife's family is descendent from their son Albert William Vickery, who married Ella Maud Penna. They came to Western Australia in the 1930's looking for work.

I am happy to send you the information I have but am new to the forum and not sure how to do this.

I don't have much information on the rest of James and Catherine's children but Victorian records are easliy accesible and so this shouldn't be too hard.

Kind Regards

Ken Richards
