My Great x 3 Grandfather William Jenkin was born in Bodmin Cornwall in 1816. He and his brother Richard moved to live in St. Columb Major in the 1830's to work in the wool trade. He is listed in the 1881 census as living in Gluvian (just next to St Columb Major) as a farmer with 44 acres, and also in the 1901 census as a Grocer in the town. I think he married a Mary Webber, and they had 9 children: Mary (b.1841)Catherine (b.1843)Louisa (b.1845)Henry Rowe (b.1846) William (b.1848)Ernest (b.1849)Margaret (b.1850)Edwin (b.1856) and Ellen (b.1860). My Great x 2 Grandfather was Ernest and he married Ruth (possibly Glanville. They also had 9 children one of whom was Joseph Glanville Jenkin (b.1879) was my great grandfather. If anyone can add to my information particularly the parents of William or Richard I would be interested to hear from you.
