Simon Jeffreys, pre 1765

I found Simon Jeffreys in Franklin Co., NC listed on the 1810 federal census. He was in the 45 and over column.
He was dead by 1813 and one of my ancestors, Goodson Drake, purchased his land.
Quote:
In 1813 Goodson Drake was a buyer of the estate of
Simon Jeffreys (Franklin Co NC Will Book DEFG 1812-124, p. 42).
Unquote.

There is a speculation that Goodson Drake's wife may have been a Jeffreys. And Goodson's mother may have been a Goodson.

Interesting connections.
This week I do plan on going to the library and copying NC marriage records from the microfiche and hope I can cover the entire state. I'll see what I can do with the Jeffreys surname, as well.
