My ggg grandfather, Willim Jeffords, was married to Elizabeth Gregory. All of their children seem to have been born in Kenucky. I have not been able to locate the family in the 1840 census but they moved to Scott Co., MO shortly before or after 1840. There were several land transactions early in 1840s. William's will was dated 19 Jan 1945 in Scott Co.. Apparent William is dead by 1950 census. Elizabeth and her youngest son David were living with Rufus, his wife Elizabeth and their two children. In 1860
Rufus, his wife and children were living in Lyon Co., KY.
Elizabeth was in Trigg Co., KY where she sold property, her dower, 3 December 1855. I have no record of her after that.
As I mentioned previously, Rufus' older brother Thomas, was my gg grandfather.

Questions: Where did you find Polly Gregory as wife of William Jeffords? Where did you find Rufus' wife's name shown as Elizabeth McGuire? (Birth Certificate for their son Ezrah E. shows his mother as Elizabeth McGrim. (Mcgrim spelling could have been misspelled by the clerk recording the birth) Do you have death dates and burial locations for Rufus & Elizabeth?
I have always felt that William Jeffords might be related to John & Phebe Jeffords but have not been able to prove it but while going thru my files in preparing this response to you I came across the following: Calloway Co., KY Marriage Records: No. 15J Elsey Jeffords & Matilda Beaconham. 16 March 1823. William Jeffords gave proof of age for Elcsy Jeffords.(The spelling is exactly as shown in record.) John & Phebe had a son named Elza who married Matilda Buconheim as shown in D. A. R. lineage 135992. . In the 1830 census for Pope Co.,IL, Elsey was living next door to John & Phebe Jeffords. Perhaps the William who signed for his younger brother is the father of Rufus. Perhaps someone out there will read this message and have an answer for us.
Please let me know if you have other questions that I might have the answer for. I have some additional questions and comments for later. Meanwhile, if you wish a copy of Williams will I will send it, however, I do not know how to do so by computer.
