Uriah Phillips Levy's brother Morton Phillips Levy married Rebecca Phillips. Their daughter Mary Ann Phillips married into the Schuyler/Livingston family of Elizabeth Schuyler who was the wife of Alexander Hamilton.

Steamboat builder Robert Fulton was married to Harriet Livingston who was the sister of Judge Robert R Livingston. Col Alexander Hamilton and Caption Meriwether Lewis had a long history with Pittsburgh starting with the Whiskey Rebellion in the fall of 1794.

Lots of connections in History with Albert Gallatin, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton.

So yes the Levy family was into ships and boats. If you look into this they were also building their own boats.

If I read this tree correctly, Jefferson Monroe Levy was a Congressman and his uncle would be Uriah Phillips Levy and his grandmother was Rachael Phillips.
