Early Jayroes in South Carolina

As far as the records go Peter Jayroe was in the American Revolution and lived in Winyah Parish (Georgetown County) So. Carolina. I have been unable to find the date or the place he arrived.My father used to say that the Jayroes were of French descent and came to America from England.All of the early Jayroe families were Protestants which leads one to believe that the Jayroe families were among the French Hugenots
