Judge Brewster Helm Jayne b.1789 NY; d. 1842 TX

I live in Austin, Texas in a neighborhood, on land, owned by Juliet
T. B. Jayne. History of the family in records here is not quite
accurate, I think. My research has children; Marcissa, born about
1833 in AL; Juliet, born about 1837 in MS; Amos, born about 1839 in
MS and Caroline, born about 1842 in Texas. Was there another child, a
son, who would have been about 14 in 1842 when Judge Jayne was killed?
Local history reports a 14 year old son as being carried off by
Indians.

The only other child mentioned in the report was a little boy, babe in
arms, who I think was probably Caroline. Supposedly only Juliet and
the little boy survived.

My research has the family in Rankin Co., MS 1850-1860 censuses but
back in Texas on 1880 census. Any help would be appreciated.
       Thank you,
Marsha
