Origin of the name Jaso/Jasso
The Jasso/Jaso name came to Mexico with the Conquistadors and Cortes. Juan Jaso/Jasso the conquistador who participated in the conquest was the Grandson of Pedro Perez de Yassu who was the son of Pedro Yassu who was head of the house of Yassu in San Juan del Pie del Puerto, Navarra Spain. It would appear this name existed as Jaso/Jasso (500 years ago) for one generation in Spain before coming to Mexico. I believe this name is of Basque origin.
