I'm not the original poster, but I am interested in what you have on her. I have the spelling of her name as "Dicy" because that's what it says on all three census records that I found her on. I have only six children for her and John B. Jasper, also based on what I gathered off of census records. 1850 Census – Division 2, Pulaski County, Kentucky John and Dicy Jasper are listed with two children living with them: Tyler, age 5, and Elizabeth, age 1. Two boarders are also living with them, William Harris, age 15, and Lucy Robinson, age 32 (Dicy's sister?). The occupation for John is listed as Farmer. The birthplace of all household members is listed as Kentucky. Living two doors up from this household are Abraham and Elizabeth Jasper (John’s parents). 1860 Census – District 1, Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky John and Dicy Jasper are listed with six children living with them: Tyler, age 16, Elizabeth, age 12, Eliza, age 10, Isabel, age 5, Frances, age 3, and Sarah, age 10 months. Tyler, Elizabeth, and Eliza are noted to have attended school within the census year. John’s occupation is listed as Farmer. The value of their Real Estate Owned is described as worth 2000 dollars, and the value of Personal Estate Owned is described as worth 800 dollars. 1870 Census – Harison District, Waterloo, Pulaski County, Kentucky Dicy Jasper, without John, is listed with four children living with her at this time: Eliza, age 19, Isabel, age 15, Frances, age 12, and Sarah, age 10. Another child, female, name of Ellen John, age 8, is also living with them. Relationship is not listed. The value of the Real Estate Owned by Dicy is described as worth 1500 dollars, and the value of Personal Estate Owned is described as worth 356(?) dollars. Dicy is listed as able to read, but unable to write. Her son Tyler Jasper and his wife and children are living next door. I have copies of these census records saved on my computer, I got them off of ancestry.com to which I have a subscription. I'd be happy to email them to you if you do not have access to them. I'm related through their son Tyler. As it happens, somewhat embarrassingly, I'm also related to John's brother Gideon: Abraham Jasper > Gideon Jasper > Thomas P. Jasper > George Gideon Jasper > Thomas Ernest Jasper Abraham Jasper > John B. Jasper > Tyler Jasper > Marion T. Jasper > Lola Jasper Thomas Ernest Jasper and Lola Jasper, third cousins, married and had five children. They are my great grandparents. (I'm also related to the Decker's and Whitaker's of Pulaski/Rockcastle Counties.) Thank you in advance for any additional information you may have on Dicy. Notify Administrator about this message?
