Hello Rick:
Tidings of the season.
At present I cannot think of a connection. However, I am in the middle of a move and will not be able to get at my things until February at the earliest. I do recall seeing a Joseph Jarvie - but whether he is your Joseph Jarvie - I do not recall.
It does sound as though the James Jarvie is one and the same. My James Jarvie states his mother as being Janet Rusell and his father as being John Jarvie, Jr. - I believe that is on the death certificate of one of the parents - but cannot recall.
Do sent another message if you like - mid-February - and I will look up what I do have.
All the best for a very Merry Christmas and being of Scots origin a splendid Happy New Year - do remember the lump of coal!
