Hi Steven Gilbert,

Thanks for responding to my posting re. the above.

I am descended from George Beverley Jarrett, through the "Elijah" line (Elijah Beverley, Elijah Charles, Elijah Henry). The last was my grandfather.

Like you, I have traced back to William Baker Jarrett, and even further, to HIS father and grandfather - but the only missing link seems to be proof of George Beverley's birth or baptism linked to WBJ. I have evidence that George Beverley and his wife Sarah were living in Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey, with the baptism record of their first child - Sarah Ann. So they must have been there at some point, for a while. The other children were baptised at St. Mary's Chatham, with the exception of Elijah Beverley, who was baptised at Upnor.

I have searched for the William Baker J's grave in Queenborough churchyard, with no success. But I have his burial record for there of 1810. Do you have any proof of marriage of William Baker Jarrett and his wife? Am I right in thinking her name was Elizabeth?

Any info would be good to receive. I only access the Internet via my local library, so may not respond immediately. But I will do so - just be patient.

By the way, yes, I have a copy of Jarretts of Upnor, and have been in contact with Ken Halton. Fascinating stuff.

Regards, Sonia
