Abraham JARMAN married Betty Hawke MASTERS on 3 Sep 1848 in the Parish Church in the Parish of Altarnun, Cornwall. He of full age, a Bachelor, a Labourer, resident in Bowithick. His father was Abraham JARMAN. She a junior, a Spinster, a Servant resident at Five Lanes (near Altarnun). Her father was James MASTERS.
I am descended from their son and first born, James JARMAN, and thence from his daughter Annie. I am from NZ but living in LOndon for 19 years. I have little information of Abraham & Betty's 9 children except for James of course. Some data in the censuses, and Mary Ann died at 18.
I am in close contact with NZ-based families of Mary Grace JARMAN and Henrietta JARMAN, two more of James JARMAN's children. I'm happy to exchange information with you but suggest this be off-list. You would need to send me your email address, as it's hidden.
Hope the marriage certificate information helps. I have employed a researcher in Cornwall to find out exactly when Abraham was born and baptised. I don't know his mother's name, or if he had brothers or sisters. There is one Sarah JARMAN who was born in Yeovil, Somerset, in 1804-1806. She might be a sister.
