Descendants of the Jerman family of Audrain Co., Missouri and Madison Co., Kentucky, have long believed that inspite of a gap in the paper trail they were related to the Jarman family of Madison Co. Kentucky and Albemarle Co., Virginia. Attempting to prove this connection with DNA evidence produced a double surprise - not only are the two families NOT related, BUT the Audrain Co. family is related to the Jarman/Jerman family of central Wales. With the old assumption now set aside and with a new direction for traditional research, hopefully a good paper trail will soon connect an American family to their Welsh ancestors.
