I apologize for not responding sooner. However, I am busy with other locations and hot leads on my research of my family tree. So, to Eula Sale and John German thank you for the information. I have saved it in hopes of connecting it to my family and placing it in the proper position. I will say this: I found a story in an old NC newspaper that is no longer in publication. It mentions several brothers who served aboard a freight cargo ship. And, jumped ship in or near Wilmington, NC. There actuall names are not known. However, since they were of german origin and spoke barely or no english, they apparently took on the corrupted form of german - Jarman and the various spellings of the name. I hope this is useful to some of you amature genealogist. Jim Griffin
