My wife's grandmother was a Jarman before marriage. She (grandmother) passed down the first page of a letter from an uncle (Unknown forename) Jarman who was a partner in Jarman, MacQuillan and Co. of Atlantic Avenue, Brookyln, N.Y. The letter is dated 1883, to an un-named sister, and refers to wife Mary, and children George and Flora.
I am currently writing to Brooklyn County Records Office to get more information about the company.
