Stephen,
There is a George Jarman that was born March 6, 1807. I suspect he was my ggggrandfather David's brother.George, like David, migrated to Peoria, Co. Illinois in 1850.There was I suspect a 3rd brother, Daniel, bn. 1811 in Salem N.J.
George Jarman married Rebecca Bevans. They had nine children. I do not have info. on thier family. However, David married Martha Newland. They had 6 children that I am aware of. They are: Silas, William, John, Harriet, Josephine and George.I am a descendent of George. Silas, William, And John migrated to Sidney, Iowa of Fremont co. George, Harriet, and Josephine's family stayed in Kewanee, Ill. That is where I am from.
I have traced back as far as David Jarman.I am not sure who David, George, or Daniel's parents are. The only info. I have at this time is of New Jersey wills. They read: Jarman(German),John,of town and county of Salem, a blacksmith, written 4 March 1735, probate 22 Jan. 1738, only names wife, Martha.
Jarman,John, written 11 Apr.1769, probate 18 May 1769, names wife Mary, sons Malliciah(oldest), Ezekial, Jonathan, Daniel, Azariah, and John, and Daughters Elizabeth and Sarah.
My suspicion is that one of these sons of John and Mary is my ggggrandfather David's father.
I don't know if I have helped you.If you can tie any of this together with your George or have any other information you can give me I would appreciate it.
I am almost sure we came from the same family. My gggrandfather, George changed our name from Jarman to German.
Here is my E-mail address: [email protected] me about your family and where you are from.
Sincerely,
Karen German Smith
