b. June 10, 1877, Knox co., Illinois. m. John Allen German, of Williamsfield, Illinois, b. June 26, 1876 & d. December 7, 1925. Myrtle d. August 8, 1957.

Obituary of Myrtle Maud German from;       The Williamsfield Times       Thursday, August 15, 1957
Funeral services for Myrtle M. German, 80, who d. Thursday, Aug. 8, (1957) in St. Mary’s Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Williamsfield Methodist Church. She was the daughter of William H. and Ann Eliza (Carothers) Smith. Born June 10, 1877 in Elba Twp., where she grew to womanhood, attending West Elba School and Elba Center Church.
On January 31, 1898 she was united in marriage to John Allen German. To this happy union were born four children, Mrs. Maude Mundy, Williamsfield, Ms. Marion (Geneva ) Smith, Toulon, William Aaron, Galesburg, and Mrs. Lester (Thelma) Johnson, Williamsfield.
In March, 1910 they moved into town where they built a new home. On December 7, 1925, her husband died. Mrs. German spent her entire life in the Williamsfield community, always willing to assist in the care of those who were Ill. Her hobbies were flowers and gardening.

Surviving are four children, a sister, Mrs. Hattie Trowbridge, Elmwood, a brother, Fred L. Smith, Williamsfield, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. Burial will be at Williamsfield Cemetery.
