Recieved you info but not sure where the Jarman connection may be. I do not usetgis forum often and spend alot of time on ancestry.com. I grew up in Jacksonville (onslow) NC and make several trips back each year, including genealogy research. One thing I have in my posession is a copy of the Black marriage record from the late 1800 to early 1900. The rugunal is in Raliegh and tere is an index but it does not show parents names which has been invaluable in finding women int eh research. Some times it is difficult to make out the letters but I've made soem wonderful discoveries and refer back to it often.
If I can use it to look up someone let me know... it would be helpful to narrow down the time frame but not necessary, and I'll see what I can find. One day I will computer index it but rightnow I take my finger and slide down each colums of bride... groom... and each parent name!!!
Onslow couty has wonderful records far beyond many places I've researched... with a lot online via them directly or via ancestry.com
I've had major disappointments visiting courthouses but Onslow is never one of them!!!
