I can't tell you who was Charlotte McDaniel Lavender's mother, but it was not Rachel Jarman. Rachel b. c1795 in Jones Co. NC was a 2nd, possibly 3rd, wife of this Risdon McDaniel. They were married about 1826, and he died in 1828, leaving a minor child, Edney S.McDaniel. Rachel was appointed guardian of Edney and reported regularly to the court. Rachel was the daughter of William Jarman who died in 1824 in Jones Co. There are many mentions of her after that in the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions. Her siblings - Hardy, Elizabeth, Penelope and William kept suing her over their father's will. There were about 4 Risdon McDaniels. Hard to sort out.
