Dear Kim,

Don't give up on your Scottish hopes/research! I have recently found 4 pages from my G Grandmother's diary. They relate family history as told to her by her grandmother Martha Jarred b. 1829. Martha said that her father, John Jarrett, always told her that they were Scottish, and had once borne the title of "Laird", but that had not meant much once they reached the new world!
