Jardine Hall and Rexton Jardines.

Life deals some strange hands of cards sometimes.

While reading through older messages I came across much about the Hall and read that it was pulled down in the 1960's. During the decade before, it housed a school - Holt School - details of which I'm extremely rusty about now. I was there during the mid 60's and have over the intervening years missed out twice on a visit to the area.

In those days, while I enjoyed History, I had no particular interest in Jardine. What a shame, for, as I've found out in more recent times (having got the FH 'bug'), that I have a link/connection to a Jardine Family, to be more specific, the same one that built boats in the Rexton area of New Brunswick, Canada. I can not but help wonder if there is any connection between the Rexton Jardines and those of Jardine Hall. While I doubt it, I'd still keep some sort of hope going I suspect.

I'm therfore emphatically interested in all matters relating to these two Jardine 'topics', and am just setting up a forum for the surname Jardine at -

where I hope I can add lots of background information.

My Jardine connection is via marriages between Craig/Orr in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire

( and

with also marriage between Orr and Jardine.

Oh Tangled web ....?

(a Craig from Chatham, NB - as it then was known)
