Is there anybody researching the family of Douglas Robert Jardine, Past Captain England XI cricket team.
Family rumours have stated that his family is related to mine (see also message in this Forum re-Allan & Jardine marriage as this is the family I'm trying to link) through the Godalming clan (as well as the Castlemilk clan and those of Jardine, Matheson & Co fame).
I have succeeded in tracing the line to William Jardine, JP of Dunstable, born circa 1818-1822 who married Jane Sharpe in 1839 in London ENG. I believe I have all his children (William, 1841-1873; Robert 1842-?; (Sir) John 1844-1919 (this is the Jardine of Godalming) and James 1846-1909), however, its not guaranteed that I actually have them all.
I wish to enquire and seek assistance in locating the brothers/sisters and descendants of William Jardine or at least a fellow researcher to compare notes/data.
