I have done a 12/25/37 marker Y-Dna test with FTDNA.
The results show a connection with a descendant of Henry
Jaques of Newbury, and a Jackson whom I do not yet know the connection. The New Jersey Jaques records are somewhat sparse due to the depradations of the British and mercenaries during the Revolution. If more Jaques/Jacques/Jaquess/Jaquish/Jakeways and other males with like surnames take the test it might further illuminate the past for us all. The tests are not cheap, but they are not really prohibitive either. The Y-12 marker test is $149.00 but I think they give a discount for someone trying to verify a Henry Jaques connection. I would like to see more participation from interested parties; all it takes is a couble of swabs insdie your cheek, just like on CSI! I would suggest starting with a 25 marker test, then upgrade to 37 markers if it looks promising.
