Hi
I didnt know if you would be interested, but I have a pack of John Jaques "Snap" Cards, the address on the box (a little worn) is 102 Hatton Garden, London. The original price was 1 Shilling and was part of a collection of 1 Shilling Games, including: Tiddledy Winks, Halma, Flitterkins, Patchese, Reversi Snap, Sigma, Word Making, Peel Puzzles, Bumble puppy. The Snap cards box lists all the games on the back, and the front ssays. A Capital Round Game, consisting of Fifty-six cards of Grotesque Charecters. Beautifully coloured. John Jaques & Son.
i recently aquired them from an antiques shop, the day after discovering that some Jaques owned a game company, it was rather spooky so I had to buy them.
However after reading your research it seems my William Jaques of bedworth was proabably in no way connected.
There seems to be no copy right on the cards, so prehaps they could be photocopied for you to see?
Kind regards, and congratulations on your family tree, mine will not get past 1815!
