Hi -
left field response for you - Yesterday 25/11/2011 I bought a very old Japanese Tourist Postage Stamp album. Inside of the back cover is a stick on label of W.M.Strachan&Co. Yokohama and Kobe. I did a search on the name and found your entry, indicating that he was a silk merchant there. As an aside on the back is a hexagonal stick on label with DSY - each letter inside a small oval and 9648/9652 underneath and pictures of slik items I presume in the gold and white criss cross boarders.

Anyway if a copy of the ornate label showing what looks like a stork (in gold leaf) at the top and tortoise (in black and gold) at the bottom with red boundary with gold pattern on it, I will be happy to email it to you as I don't seem to be able to attach anywhere.

Rgds Jim Longwood
