searching for last living relatives in Kyoto area - any help, please?

I am an attorney desperately seaching for out last Japanese (mainland) residing relatives. I need to inform them of a death. Personally, I'd like to get in touch. We are from the Kyoto area, we have been told, near a "red tree/tea house on a mountain; we lived in the valley village on its other side" Sorry for the vagueness, but she was quite old. All we are certain about is the some of the names, Midori, Sasamura, Oko, Itamae, Sabure, and Sumizome/Surizame. My grandmother was born in the area roughly described above. I recall visiting a relative a number of times in a health care facility but I don't remember much else. We've had a lot of tragedy with the middle generation in preserving things, so I'm so sorry for the vagueness, but I thought it was worth a try. OH! Another possibly valuable tid-bit is that my grandmother was Japanese but immigrated to France first and then the US/or her father did it; it wasn't fully clear. Any help would be appreciated!
