Sumie, I'm still trying to contact you. It's been well over 5 years now that I've been searching with no success, although a number of people have tried to help me.
Sumie's Maiden name was Mariya or may be pronounced Moriya. I knew Sumie in Yokohama, Japan in 1947-1948 while serving in the Army. She had a brother who was a Kamikaze Pilot that never got to fly his mission. In 1948 I returned home to Philadelphia, PA to go to The Philadelphia Museum School of Art. The last I heard from Sumie was that she had married an American and they came to the U.S. to live. This was probably between 1948 and 1953. At this time they also had a baby daughter. I don't remember Sumie's married name or to what state they moved, although I believe it was in the mid west. If you know anything abought Sumie or her family, please let me know or at least let Sumie or her family know of this message. Thank you. Sincerely, Bill Vassallo
