a.k.a. Koizumi Yakumo (last name, first name format in this message unless otherwise marked) http://www.trussel.com/hearn/pulvers.htm -says he had four children, eldest Kazuo http://www.kumamotokokufu-h.ed.jp/kumamoto/bungaku/yakumo.html - first line here starts: Living great-grandchild Kozumi Bon... (if you can see Japanese characters, his name is 小泉凡) http://www.swc.ac.jp/introduction/kyouin/koizumi.htm -it appears he may be a professor here. http://www.kumamotokokufu-h.ed.jp/kumamoto/bungaku/yakumo150.html - here mentions a grandson, Mr Akio Inagaki (Inagaki may be last name, not sure) http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%B0%8F%E6%B3%89%E5%85%AB%E9%9B%B2 - according to the Japanese wikipedia article, his third son was a painter, '小泉清' Timeline shows: 1891: Eldest son, Kazuo born 1897: Second son, 巌 (Takeshi may be the reading) born 1899: Third son, 清 (Kiyo?), the painter, born. 1903: Daughter Suzuko born. http://www.bekkoame.ne.jp/i/inoha/ca1/ca12/1203.htm - here is more info on the third son. Basic facts: born 1900, left school 1918, father was Koizumi Yakumo, died in 1962 (suicide). No mention of family/marriage/descendants. http://www.ko-bun-sha.co.jp/mokuroku-20.html - more here, if you can get through the Japanese. ヘルンと私 小泉 時 著 Hearn and I by Koizumi 時(Aki?) Authored by the grandchild of Koizumi Yakumo, last years of her grandmother and father, Kazuo, uncles, 巌 and 清, and aunt 寿々子(Suzuko). Overflowing with love and recollections, many otherwise unpublished photographs. (Published 1990) http://www.aozora.gr.jp/index_pages/person224.html - a little more on his wife, includes birth/death dates http://www.kumamoto-ireland.org/archives/cat_50026807.html - this seems to be more by Koizumi 時(Aki). Mentions her father, 一雄/Kazuo, the second son suceeded/inherited a business from a foster-father and became 稲垣巌 (Inagaki Takashi - father of the Inagaki Akio mentioned above?) Her father had one child - her. Second son had 1 son, two daughters, third son (the artist) had a son and a daughter. Her aunt, Suzuko, who died 'four or five years previously in America', never married and had no children. 5 living grandchildren altogether. Where names are in Kanji I am usually not sure of the proper reading, particularly for first names (same kanji can have various readings in names). There seems to be a LOT of info out there about this family, only it's more or less all in Japanese. I would suggest contacting great-grandson Kozumi Bon http://read.jst.go.jp/public/cs_ksh_012EventAction.do?action4=event&lang_act4=E&judge_act4=2&code_act4=1000229925 - you should see his email there.
