January/Javier/Janveiries Descendants
Dear GenForum,
I posted a message last April about my maternal line, looking for anyone who may have more information about my genealogical line.I have been busy putting in names, not only of my direct line, but also for different branches of the line. The reason for this is that the Janvier/Janvieries/January lines original documentation was destroyed in the Great Earthquake/Fire of San Francisco,CA in about 1906; the relative that was working on the entire families of all of our descendants from France, and had the original documentation from many of the American descendants, well, it is in part why we've not been able to prove who we were connected to in European society.
I have traced some of the line down to Thomas Janvier/January, I who arrived in Philadelphia, PA on the ship Desire to 1686, but I still need to locate his brothers who arrived in two different ports: one to the Carolinas somewhere, and the other to New Orleans.I also am looking for documentation to help verify the research.I have proof of Thomas's arrival, from ship logs and he was also a member of the "Welcoming" committee of Philadelphia, plus other documentation. But there is always more to do.
I know that our families are all over the country, and I'm trying to tie all of us together so that anyone in our family can find their families regardless of where they were born or when they lived; basically, I'm trying to "recreate the wheel" that the family member was trying to do back at the turn of the 20th Century in SF.I've got over 800 names in the Master Family Tree that I'm working on thus far, and while I haven't found all of the source records for these people (there's only so much time that I can spend doing this by myself) looking for these records, if any of you have any documents or know where records are that I may be able to find online, etc., I would appreciate it for all of our sakes.
As some of you may know, some of the family married their spouses in Canada; one was kidnapped in TX/Mexico area in the early 1860's and I've been able to find some of those missing family lines; some were writers; some were connected to Edgar Allen Poe; some were furniture makers; some were married to the DuPont's; some traveled with David Crockett across the Cumberland Pass to migrate down south; some are related to royalty, all of this is what I'm reserching presently and have people working on these and other facts to bring our families' histories become more alive.I am also trying to find not only pictures to add to people names in the family Master Tree, but interesting stories of all sorts so that people can know what people have gone through and who they are for future generations of the greater family of ours.
I know that some of us are directly related to Pierre Janvier, Viscount de Bois & his wife Claude Marie d'Elbouf from La Flotte, Ile de Re, France, but know one that I've talked to thus knows much more than that.If any of you have information of what ships the other two brothers came over to America on and when and where they landed, or who their descendants are, even if their names were spelled differently from what Thomas, Janvier, I records show from the 1686 landing from what I've found thus far, please let me know.
With Many Thanks,
Roger L. Henry
