info in Janvier in France
Some things of interest about the French Connection that have assisted in ample procrastination on schoolwork (also posted on the January genforum):
If Pierre Janvier was in fact the Viscount de Bois, he would have had land named Bois (since his title was Viscount of Bois)... There are several places in France that begin with Bois, including Bois-de-la-Pierre; Bois-le-Pargny; Bois-la-Ville; Bois-le-Roi; Bois-le-Gand; Bois-aux-Moines; Bois... Based purely upon assumption, Bois-de-la Pierre makes good sense as his titled home and is right around Fangau, Southwest of Toulouse.
Meanwhile, Rue De La Flotte (yes, it is now a street), Ile de Re, France is in western France, near La Rochelle... This makes the two areas (Ile de Re and Bois-de-la-Pierre) nearly 500 kilometres apart... Since Paris is much further north than either place, but Bordeaux and Toulouse are right in the path to each other, perhaps their alliance/meetng could have been made in one of those two larger towns, unless, of course, there was some other familial connection, or they did indeed meet at court.
Furthermore, the name d’Elbouf seems to actually have Italian meanings, as there is Villa D’Elbouf in Italy southeast of Napoli near Portici, and I have found very little about the D’Elbouf family in France or Italy other than what we’ve all mentioned here... as I don’t read italian very well, I really don’t know more than that, but am planning on cornering a professor of the Italian language shortly!
