I have several Jans and Janse family ancestors which I can't find too much about. Celitje Jans married Andries Rees (1630-1674); Catrina Janse married their son Willem Andriesse Rees (1651-?); and Ariaanje Janse (1642-?) married Andries Scherp (1640-?). Do any of these names ring a bell? I saw one of the names on one of the other Jans messages looks similar to my family names, but I don't think it's the same person. With all my Dutch and German ancestors I have a bunch of similar names-- Andreas, Andries, Ariaanje, and Ariaantje Andriesse. It sure can make things confusing at times!
Also, do you know if the Jans and Janse surnames are the same family?
