Hi Elaine,
My name is Joyce Jankiewicz, it use to be Harris..Anyway, have you ever heard of Jankiewicz being a Jewish name before??
It sounds like your family were almost secretive about their other religion.. Makes a person wonder.
Kasmir Jankiewicz, son of Simon or (Samuel) lived in Posen, Poland or (Germany) depending on which time your talking about. Maybe the Jankiewicz decided at some point in time that it would be safer to not be considered a Jew...
I wonder if anyone else has ever heard of Jankiewicz being a Jewish name....
Did you read the letter from the young man in Poland who said 4 Jankiewicz brothers were given a Coat of Arms..I guess that would be some kind of honor..

There also use be talk of Jankiewicz being Royalty..Maybe thats where that talk came from...
I'd sure like to know more about these subjects....

Buy for now,
Joyce
