Hi James:
I don't know too much. My grandfather's family originally came to Canada with the United Empire Loyalists. They settled in the Kitchener-Waterloo area of Ontario. Because of the war (WW1), they changed the spelling of their name from Janke to Yanke. My grandfather's name was Lloyd George Yanke and he died in July, 1991. He was a cabinetmaker, a trade passed down in his family. His brother's name was Lorne and sister was Del (both have died.) Sorry I can't be of more help. Diane.
