This sounds like the same family. I was just researching a Lester Janke from the same area. This obit is for the sister of Chester.
Marcella Stevens
Marcella E. ?Babe? Stevens, 74, of Eau Claire and formerly of Hixton, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 19, 2006, at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire, Wis.
She was born on November 8, 1931, in Garden Valley Township, Jackson County, Wis., to parents Michael and Johanna (Lockner) Janke. She graduated from Hixton High School and attended nursing school. She married Curtis Stevens on March 3, 1951, in Alma Center. She worked as the bookkeeper and office manager for the family business, Valley Oil Company, from 1960 to 1992. Marcella was a member of Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Hixton, serving as organist for many years and also belonging to the Our Savior?s Lutheran Church WELCA. She was a member of the Hixton-Taylor American Legion Auxiliary. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Other favorite activities included playing bridge and cards. She also enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Texas since 1993.
She is survived by her husband, Curt; one son, Jeff Stevens of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Lori (Kim) Ranzenberger of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Sarah and Amanda Stevens and Elizabeth and Rebekah Ranzenberger; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Caroline Hart; and by her brother, Chester Janke.
Funeral services for Marcella E. ?Babe? Stevens will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2006, at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church, Hixton, with the Reverend Sherman Iverson officiating. Burial will take place in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
The Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, is assisting the family.
There is a picture with the obit, but I don't think it will post on here.
